Hi all,

I need your help please. Please take a look at my website and tell me what is wrong with it and how I can fix the problems. I know there are problems but I dont

I am going through the training again. Thanks Robert.

No probs. Its all too easy to jump ahead and as sure as shooting you are going to miss one or may two pieces of vital information and just like now you are going to wonder where you went wrong.
hear from you in a few days.
Robert

No problem Robert. Thanks very much. Have a nice evening.

I think you need to stop what you are doing right now and take the Getting Started training.
Its step by step and very easy steps.
So far you are making a right mess.
Sorry if you think I'm being unkind but best to be upfront and honest with my opinion now and you WILL thank me for it later.
Have a nice day and get to that training asap.
Robert

Good suggestion Robert. I think it's easy for many to get overzealous and skip some of the training which in turn causes various oversights/errors. That should have been my first suggestion!

Thanks Robert for your honesty. I followed the training. I knew something was not right but cannot pinpoint what it is. Can you assist ?

No probs and its best to be cruel to be kind in this particular instance.
Someone had to say it and I don't mind it was me and as I said I will be thanked later.
have a nice day.
Robert

Go over the training again and even once more until you get it right.
If you cannot get the Getting Started training right what hope have you got to master the rest of the courses.

It really does only take about 30 seconds to create the site in Wordpress.
That's the easy bit but its only the foundation.

The tricky bit is to build out your new site and for that as I said you really must follow the training one lesson at a time and DO NOT skip any.

Take it slow and easy and - Step By Step.

You need help you ask, and you ask again and again and again until you get it right.

I expect to hear from you in about 3 or 4 days to ask for some help and I will give it gladly as will the other WA members who all have been where you are today.

Have a nice day.
Robert

Thanks 2A1. Have a nice day.

Looks good to me.

Looks like you got it trevor. Thanks!
Ed

Thanks Mijareze. I am grateful .

Overall nice looking site! There are a few problems which I'll address and help out with:

1. You need to go to Appearance -> Customize from your WP dashboard to customize your homepage. You are leaving all the theme defaults. The "central park", "home office" and "vespa scooter" sections are not relevant to your site and I assume are just placeholders. Either customize or disable them

2. You have your homepage set as your blog page. You have to publish a post to get rid of that 404 page not found area at the bottom. Did you delete the default 'hello world' post?

3. Make sure you customize your slider or disable it completely! It is doing nothing for your site at the moment. It doesn't link to anything and just has default theme text.

Other than that things are looking pretty good. I recommend activating comments. It's great way to get feedback and gauge user interest. Might be good to enable on your WA review. Social media share buttons would be good too!

Best of luck,

Trevor

You're very welcome! Glad I could help. Take care

Thanks a million times Trevor. I am very grateful. Have a wonderful day.

Hi all,

Is it possible to promote Wealthy Affiliate without a website? Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to promote an online training community without a web-site - especially when they are plain giving you 2 sites for free anyway as a free member and even more as a paid member?

From a purely personal marketing viewpoint....if someone told me that they are promoting the best on-line business building web-site since sliced bread....I would be uber-interested and the first thing I would want to know is what they have done with their membership....and can I see their web-site please? If you didn't have a site I would wonder why....

I came here through another member's site and I was impressed with what he was doing with his membership here - it gave me confidence to join and see if I could do something worthwhile myself.

I can see what you are looking at doing - just setting up splash pages and building a list to promote to - perhaps using WA as the initial "bait" to bring people in?

I guess that could work - but will you be supporting your sign-ups when they are here? And if you are not going to be using the site yourself to build web-sites - how effective would you be in offering support?

Regards

Kevin

I say No, others may say yes but the reality is nowadays if you don't have a website you have no real chance of building a long tern profitable online business.

Here's just a few reason why:

The average conversion rate sending someone directly to an affiliate site is around 2%, and I am being generous. So this means for every 100 people you send only 2 people will convert.

So you're going have to generate a ton of traffic. So if you have no website to generate free traffic you're going to need to spend money for paid traffic.

This is possible but here's the problem with that and where it will cost you a ton of money.

Because you have no website, you have no idea what keywords for your PPC campaign are converting. So to find this out you'll need to spend a lot of money getting this data.

Without a website you have no brand, you have no ability to build relationships and trust with an audience.

All of which you can do through your website.

Remember people have no idea who you are, so let me ask you a question - why should they trust you? Why should they click on your link? Why should they join the WA?

You can't answer these questions because you have no voice, your voice is your website. And don't rely on the WA site to be your voice.

Another thing you're missing out is the ability to build a mailing list. This is the most valuable asset you can own. This gives you the ability to build these relationships I spoke of.

Once people know like and trust you, they will buy from you and trust your recommendations.

Plus you have the ability to market to them over and over again, because once someone has purchased from you once, they are far more likely to purchase again and again.

Building a real business needs a store front, and in this case that would be your website.

Leo, that is so spot on. I could not agree more
with your take on this. Building the very important
relationship and list is vital to your business.

It may sound harsh but my advice will always be either build your business right, or don't do it at all.

I do not think it is harsh at all people
do come to WA to build a business.

Hi Leo . Your advice is not harsh. It is what it is an advice.

Hi Leo. There are tons of information on WA landing page for visitors to decide whether they want to join WA or not. And to build my email list I don't need a website. I agree with having a website is better. However it doesn't mean you can't make money online without one. You can still build your email lists and make money without a website.

Sure you could just have a landing page to build your list, but with no website it's going to be very very hard to build any relationship with your list.

Just emailing them is not good enough, people will want to see your presents online. With no website, people will want to know why you don't have one.

Believe me I know I've been building email lists for over 10 years. It takes on average 7 to 10 contacts with someone before they will even consider trusting you let alone buying from you.

And as for the WA website, sure lots of great information, but this is where most affiliate marketers fail. Relying on the affiliate's website to do the selling.

Again why should I buy from you? How can you prove to me that the WA is trustworthy? You can't because you don't have a voice, you have no website providing me with your story giving me information I can use to make an informed decision.

What is your experience with the WA? I have no idea because you can't tell me, you have no website. .

I think you're really missing the point of building relationships to build your business. It's far more important then ever in today's online world.

If I came across your stuff and I had no reference point (a website) I would blow right pass you and find someone that is established or establishing thing themselves and is building a reputation online.

I will concede you could make money without one, but again good luck with that, it's going to very, very hard and very expensive.

But of course how you want to promote the WA is totally up to you. In my opinion I guess it boils down to - do you want to work smart or work hard.

The true voice of experience.

Thanks very much Leo for your words of wisdom. I have taken everything you said on board. I am grateful. Have a blessed day.

You're welcome - all the best with your promotions

Utilize PPC techniques with socal media. You can use blogspot.com which is free to create a series of blog pages and, you can place banners/affiliate links ect on these pages. But the ultimate goal, is to have your own .com .net .org even if it is a "free copy" of a paid product.

Yes you can, but it is always better with a website. It will be much harder to try and do it without.
For eg promoting on social networks will be limited because a lot of social networks don't allow raw affiliate links.
Is there a reason why you want to promote without a website?

Thanks Lynne for prompt reply. I feel it is less hassle. I don't have to worry about writing articles for the website or maintain the site. I want to test the water first before committing myself.

Yes it certainly is.
Simply promote your affiliate link.

Thanks Ken.

Hi all,

My website is about parking ticket and some visitors to my website are asking me how to build a website/blog . I am just wondering if I could advertise not promot

You write blog how to build website and put WA banner in it. In your answers to comments you can tell them that you know how to do it and point people to company where they can learn more.

Thanks Nemira. Very much appreciated.

You are welcome, have a great weekend.

Some people make an additional page about "build your own website like I did" or "see how you can build a website like this".

Thanks Jean. I am grateful. Have a nice day.

Hi, I would say that is not spamming. Make an extra Page and be very honest and clear why you are offering this promotion (and please put your link behind your "advertisment", it doesnt make any difference for your prospect if they click on an affiliate link or not, right?)
Honesty is most of the times the best thing to do ;o)

Hope that helps.
