I didn't give up! And I got my mojo back.

A quick update in the hope that I can inspire and encourage anyone that has moments where they feel like giving up.

I'm sure you have had moments where you thought that you may as well start looking for a 'real' job. I started last year in September, with my gardening blog, and I had so many hopes and dreams for the future. I was going to be a full time blogger, earning from home, doing what I love doing for a living.

Reality was different

But as many as you know, this life can be very hard. So much harder than a 'proper' job. You are on your own. There aren't many people you can connect with on a regular day, and if you do, they are behind a computer, much as yourself, and it's just not the same as face to face contact.

Then there are the weeks, if not months, where no money is coming in, but plenty is going out. Whoa! Has it been a month already? Time to renew my subscription for this and that. The bills are coming in whether I make any sales or not. I check my affiliate sales.... tumble weed. I check Google Analytics in the hope that my traffic has increased... nope. I'm pinning to Pinterest like a madwoman because that's supposed to get the traffic. I post on Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Before you know it, I've spend an hour or two watching funny cat videos.

I suddenly realised that I'm doing all these things, and I'm really neglecting something that is really the most important thing above all: creating content. Yea sure, I'm creating blog posts here and there, but how much more could I do if I purely concentrated on creating content?

I found my motivation

So then I started doing just that. I created more blog posts. I finally took the plunge and created a youTube channel (let me tell you, that was hard!) and posted my first video. And on top of that, I've just created a course on how to set up a blog and it's now available on Udemy.

And you know what? I got my mojo back. It turns out that creating is at the heart of what we need to do. And promoting and marketing but unless we continue creating, we're not going to have anything worthwhile to promote.

You're probably thinking: I already knew that! And I thought I knew this too but I was so busy on social media, listening to podcasts on how to do things, buying courses on how to get traffic, reading other people's success stories, I got a bit lost.

And it really all comes back to what we are taught right from the start here on Wealthy Affiliates.

I feel I've come full circle, it feels like I'm starting again, but with so much more knowledge. Sometimes you just have to go through a lot of lows to find your focus on what is important.

I'm so excited now going forward, I get up in the mornings eager to create and to work on my blog, another course, and on helping other people! I know it's going to take time but there is no way I'm giving up. I know my goal is there, within reach, I just have to keep moving towards it.
