Why you need to love your niche

Last time I was here, about 2 years ago, I was going through all the training and building a website built around career advice. It's a topic I know well because I do that for a living. I like the job well enough, but I really got tired of thinking and saying and writing the same things all day at work, and coming home and blogging about it on my website. Borrrring. It is no wonder I burned out and decided to park my account.

2 years later, here I am again, sick of working 9-5 and doing the same old thing over and over again, but this time I chose a niche that I am really into, have researched extensively, and talk about with my friends and family on a regular basis. I have been able to find great key words, and can easily write about around them.

I am super pleased with how well I am doing, and I remember a lot of what I learned last time, so it just seems really fun and engaging vs another job to do when I get home.

I guess the moral of the story is, pick a niche that interests you, that you have a passion for, or want to learn more about. Get specific and speak to your audience like you would to your friend.
