There are a multitude of similar sites that do just that. Consider sites that offer to let you shop insurance companies, airplane fares, cars, mortgage rates, etc.
Yes, I'm sure you can set one up in WordPress, but be careful picking your niche. Some of those 'comparison shopping' sites are huge, and would be impossible for a new site to out rank!

Hi Nick, I followed the link and read your question. It sounds to me like you are primarily trying to create a series of links that are more for your benefit than anything else, perhaps I'm misinterpreting?
If that's the case then perhaps something like https://delicious.com/ is more what you are looking for?
On the other hand if you are trying to put together something not only for yourself but for others that are interested in the same topics, then you should be following the training courses.
Your audience doesn't just want a bunch of product links they want to know WHY you think those products are important or why you think they are related. Perhaps talking about exactly what you were outlining in the question is a starting point.
Something like, "Hey fellow MMAers, I was constantly struggling to find a better selection of things in the right sizes and thought, hey maybe others have this problem too...so I put together this list of items that might help, each set of items has it's own page where I compare it with other items, so feel free to click on the more information button and go to that items page". Then write up why you think the item is something someone might be looking for.
There's no magic way to get traffic to your site without putting in the time and content. Well, that's not entirely true. You could go to Google and get Adsense account and pay for your traffic.
If I totally misunderstood your intent, then I apologize and perhaps a little more elaboration would assist my interpretation of your goals.

When you find and come across products that turn you on.
Grab a pen and tell yourself why you feel that way about all those products, services, people and professionals.
Make your notes as quickly and roughy as you can and do not worry about the way your writing looks and sounds or the spelling and grammar of it all.
Then in a similar manner put your hand written notes if they are into a draft form so you can share them with a collaborator or friendly editor or proof reader.
You can send me your first 250 words. A half a page at a time please.
I will try my best to make anything you write sing a little and you can decide if you like it or not.
No fees just paying a little forward works for me always.
Now what products makeyou feel like a million bucks and why?

Are you thinking of creating a store with the selections? You can be an Amazon Affiliate, create a store with the products you like, do the side-by-side comparisons and when people purchase through your site you get commission. Small piece at first, but it increases.
Whatever you do... Don't give up! You have a great idea. It wll work.

Okay, basically when i shop for mma gear online its always incredibly difficult to find what I'm looking for without having to go through at least 7+ links off google, and when you do, there's only about 2-4 choices and they never have my size.
What I want to do, is get a larger selection of each item (Shorts, gloves, headgear, etc) and just put them all in one location, making it really simple to just find what you want and with more choices.
I know that I need to be an affiliate and all that, but as I'm following Kyle's tutorials, the website he's getting us to build feels more like a blog and with a personal element. It's caused me to make pages like diet and fitness and blog, etc , all of which i don't see as the purpose for this website. The most i'm willing to do off topic is maybe have a small blog to give tips and maybe compare the difference between certain products.

I think there is some training on creating the Amazon store. They have about everything in the world.
Let me know if you checked on Amazon.
I have to sleep a while. It's almost 5 a.m. here! And I'm typing in the dark because my hubby is asleep next to me! Crazy.. LOL
