So This Happened.

I don't know how many of you have actually read my maybe 3 sentence bio. If you did you already know how many children I have. If you did not, I have seven (7) wonderful children. Can you imagine what homework/work time is like........it's chaos!!!! We have 1 desktop computer and 1 laptop. Do you see where I'm going with this yet? If not there's more. So yesterday, some of my little people told me they have homework to do but can wait to get it done since its Spring Break. Procrastination at its best! But I must say they get it honestly. OK back to the reason I'm writing this post.

Me being the mom that I am, I'm like no lets get it done and out the way so you can enjoy your break and not have to worry about it later. Of course, I get the "OMG Mommy". Homework time is off to an awesome start. Nobody has questions, so I decide to steal away to do a little research in effort to find my "niche". In search of my laptop, of the little people decided to take it upon themselves to use it. I resort to using my cellphone. I have no idea when I drifted off to sleep but when I woke up, the house was quiet and the little people were in their respected places chilling.

I thought to myself, OK Nikki lets do some more research. Asking where is my laptop, NO ONE KNOWS and swear they didn't have it last. Now we're playing the blame game. I knew I wouldn't get anywhere by playing this game with them. Something told me, you know that gut feeling you get when somethings wrong??.......yeah that one...... I knew something was wrong with my laptop. I find it under a pile of clothes, at least they had sensed enough to charge it. I open it, my screen is a rainbow of colors and my keyboard is sticky. Some little person wasted kool aid all over my laptop.........speechless........no words. Everybody went into hiding.

I could find no words. All the little people are being super nice, but nobody has confessed. Now I sit at the library, in silence venting to you all, my other family. Im sure I may never know what happened to my poor laptop. But I must say, this incident should buy me a few days of good behavior! And you have to laugh, you they say laughter is good for the soul. Not to mention its a great way to relieve stress.

Thanks for listening/reading! Be great on your journey to achieving success and I wish you all the best!!

PS. Let me know if you need another stress reliever, I have stories to last a lifetime!!!

Big families are full of surprises
sometimes not always easy to manage.
But the most important is all the love you
share every day. And you talk about this
love very well!

Have a nice day!
Good luck for your laptop.
Ingrid

There is never a dull moment!!

Wow!
Your time management and application skills must be incredible.
I have two daughters and trying to manage all the usual tasks and extra activities is a challenge at the best of times.

Thanks for sharing.

Matt

I think i need to edit my profile because I failed to mention I have an all-star cheer team. Not to mention my little people are involved in after school activities as well.

Wow, Nikki... You lead a glamorous life 😉 but seriously, you're a rock-of-Gibraltar inspiration of what it means to be "Mom"...

FYI, you may want to perform a kool-aid keyboard sticky, online search for "nonprofit computer donation" in your area.

Reason I suggest this is because I used to be president of "Kitsap Computing Seniors" nonprofit computer club in my area and we'd receive donated computers from members of the club and community - refurbish these laptops / desktops, and then place them into the homes of families needing devices - for free. (And frankly, there were more devices on hand than applicants in need)

As much as I'd love to hear more stress relieving stories from you here on the WA blogs, perhaps we can hear more from you on your new niche website that maybe relates to mommies going through similar struggles of balancing - home, work, life, sanity?

Hey Mike thanks, that's a good idea!!!

Okay, I only have three kids and homework time is a challenge. I can imagine just how much time you put into helping those little ones. You sound like an amazing mom! I love that you call your kids "little ones". I would love to hear more of your stress relieving stories. This cracked me up and almost made me cry at the same time. Because, seriously, what do you do? I think you're right.... take advantage of the coming good behavior and laugh.

Thank you sooo much for sharing your story. I whish you the best and a new, clean and unsticky laptop soon :)

Kelly'O

Kelly'O lets just say I didn't have to make dinner today! Think I may just have to do the library thing for a little while, as my oldest is a freshman in college and money don't grow on trees....LOL! Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I will keep sharing. Felt like therapy to me.

Wishing you the best as well.

I also have 7 children. I empathize with you! You got this. Plus, you've got ideas for potential niches ALL around you!

Tamara

That's the problem Tamara, I have alot of ideas in my head because of my little people! The flip side to them is that they make me want to be and do better.
