Trying to get to there from here

I've been trying to make the shift from making no money online to making enough to pay my bills and then some for a while now.

But it's not easy is it? Far from it, in fact. The popular saying is that if it was easy then everyone would be doing it, but I'm not sure that's true. I've noticed that most people prefer the road less travelled, even if it's a hard road, they're comforted by the familiar and don't want to try anything new, but I digress.

My first dip in the water was probably around 2010-2011 and I only have a vague memory of it. I recall it was something along the lines of affiliate marketing using Clickbank. Seemed like a good idea, but something was missing. I just couldn't muster up enough energy to trawl through what seemed like millions of products in order to guess which ones would be best sellers. In addition, building a website was still pretty complicated, with instructions far less simplified than now. When I noticed that I was going prematurely grey with nothing to show for it, I gave it up.

After that came a period of researching and testing various on-line programmes which assured me that they weren't GRQ schemes for fear of losing all credibility. Some of these may well have been GRQ scams, some may have been genuine, I'm really not sure, because very quickly they all blurred into one annoying mess and I was back to where I started having lost, time, energy, enthusiasm and, of course, money.

I think what aggravated me the most was how once these companies had got you onto their mailing list it was open season to sell you more stuff courtesy of their JV programmes which was definitely not what I'd signed up for. I wanted to make money, not be continuously presented with reasons to give mine away to people who were friends and business partners of the original company, people who I had no relationship with whatsoever.

Now, I'm here at WA and planning to stick around for a while. I don't know if it will be a success but I do know that I will do everything I can to make it so.

WA allows me to combine my love and experience in writing with the joys, ups and downs, headaches, frustrations and successes and sheer fun of creating something which will last. This time I don't mind slipping into the valleys in-between the mountain peaks because even after less than three months I can tangibly see that I'm moving forward which is a marvellous change from going around in circles, or moving so slowly that I'm actually going backwards, like in the past.

To Kyle and Carson and everyone who's taken time out to write a kind word to me here at WA; THANK YOU, you rock!

I hope you'll stick around with me. Let's enjoy the journey as much as the destination (-:

We'll see how it goes. Wishing you much success too (-:

I'll stick around with you. There are more than 1,000s of ways to make money online at least. And I am talking white hat. But I don't know anyone who just makes money online from just internet marketing. The internet allows you to earn from various streams of income. You can earn from comments on your site via captcha plug-ins. There are social plug-ins you can monetize. The most valuable space on your site is called "above the fold" and you get more money for ads placed before your visitor's scroll down. I recently discovered StackCommerce, UpWork, Amazon Turk. Everything won't be in your ethical wheelhouse and everything won't be a success but you'll learn and you may move on and you may not. It's like filling out survey's, a lot of people start out there and some quit while other go further down the rabbit hole and notice that there is an uber series of middlemen when dealing with surveys. Though there are plug-ins that allow you to monetize your site with surveys. I personally stay away from them as I hated filling out surveys and rarely if ever did them. With the exception of for Nielsen once but they were recording all my computer habits so I ended up opting out. It's a lot of info to take in out there in the WWW. One where people make up their own currency and become millions everyday or just sharing themselves being themselves.

I just wanted to say it's a long race and just when you think your near the finish you realize it's just the start. If you need any assistance don't hesitate to ask. If I can help I'll be glad to.

Thanks for all of those great suggestions and for the offer of help, Wishing you much success too (-:

All the best on your journey :)

Thanks Jude, you too (-:

Sorry you had that experience. Chalk it up to a learning experience that you wouldn't have had otherwise.

Then stick with WA.

Yeah, it's no problem. As you say everything is just a step to somewhere else (-:
