My Progress So Far

I joined Wealthy Affiliate just under two weeks ago but in that time I've learnt a lot.

I've had blogs before but I've never really understood SEO and how to really build an audience. That was one of my motivations for joining WA.

Choosing a niche took a bit of time but I opted for something I can write passionately and insightfully about: Mental Health. As someone who suffers from bipolar disorder, I feel like I have a lot to share with other people. It may not be the easiest niche to advertise products through, but I felt it was important that I chose something that really bothers me.

I'm now coming to the end of the level 2 certification and am beginning to engage more with the community and am seeing my website gain a few comments. This is encouraging and I'm hungry to learn more and to create more content.

My goal for the next three months would be to keep on with the regular contributions and to remind myself that this is a long-term project. A little often is much better than dipping in every couple of weeks. I would like to think that in 3 months I would have started making some money for my hard work but to be honest it's just as important that my website is gaining a following and is reaching the people who will really gain from it.

If in 6 months I am still going with this project and am paying the monthly fee to remain with WA, then I DEFINITELY need to see some monetary return for my work!! Perhaps by then I'll have more than one website going and I'll be writing content on different topics that are close to my heart. I would also like to think that a handful of my contemporaries on WA will have become friends by then as we travel this route together.
