First off, the book is FREE right now for everybody that's helped me along the way. That includes everybody here at WA. I would not have a website if it were not for the crew here. Thank you for that.

My goal was to get within the top 20,000 with the Amazon Best Sellers Rank. That's where it's rumored that authors can make a living.

I blew that result out of the water, now I'm tracking what kind of "staying power" the book will have. I sure hope it's sticky.

HOW

This has been a long time in the making.

I researched amazon categories like I would research keywords for niche sites (I'd also been writing for 10 years) when I found a solid one I pounced.

This book took about a month to write, another month to edit, dial in the cover, set up the marketing, and have some editors beat the snot out of it.

This is day 1 of the free listing but I've had over 66 downloads in the last 12 hours, about all of them through amazon affiliate links. I bet you can already see how I can afford to give the book away for free. Even if amazon stops giving affiliate earnings to free products, I link to the print version and not the free digital copy, so it's gravy. My goal is to get readers and build a list so that I can launch subsequent books bigger and harder each round. If I can get 100 downloads in one day every other month, with the next books being discounted to $.99 instead of free, this will be what I'm looking for. Keep in mind there will be trickling royalties in between each launch and each book will help buoy up the next.

Personal Note:

I'm beat to the dirt right now, partially from hustling for this launch, and partially for chasing a 2 year old through a 95 degree park. When I started this I vowed, "I will not be outworked." That's why I'm posting instead of sleeping. That's why I'm thanking you all by giving this away. I wanted to make some notes here about focuses so I can expand later (also I didn't read the rules for blogging here - let me know if I need to remove the link to the book - you can find it free from the title in the picture until May 10th, otherwise it's just a. When I started I'd have flipped to get a free look at a product that worked.)
