Hey Nathan, I guess it depends on how big a change in direction you're contemplating. If you're going from how to train horses to how to start a cult, you may have a problem, but if you're moving shifting within a very broad niche, in order to have a different focus, then you might be able to adapt. Don't forget that many domains only cost a few dollars a year, so it might just be easier to splash out for a new one. Hope this helps. Michael.
