My first few weeks
With so many scams on the internet, I did not have any expectations when I joined WA. For me I wasn't about making money at all. my initial idea was to get the training I needed so that I could set up learning platforms for my students of Aircraft engineering.
My Day Job
I work in a College in England teaching Aircraft engineering. The recent pandemic has literally forced me to go online to teach, which isn't an easy option for engineering. After all most of my students want the hands-on approach.
So I had to find a good LMS (Learning Management System) after a lot of searching I can say that I have finally ditched PowerPoint and use a system that not only provides a good learning experience it's fun as well. I chose Nearpod and became an expert.
So to progress on I wanted to set up a learning platform for my students to help them whilst they were stuck at home but of course all that changed when I realised I could actually make money doing this as well.
As yet I am still too green to design the webpage for my students but if you can understand this next bit, I shall make or attempt to make money making webpages as practice. Sounds backwards but my heart really is with my learners, some of who haven't got two sticks to rub together.
I am also an expert with Snagit a brilliant image manipulation program that I will be willing to teach over teams or zoom if required, it,s so powerful yet simple it's my daily go to app and I use it for other teachers work too (I'm very much in demand at work.
Another LMS that I am fully compliant with is Socrative. This is a useful quiz maker and to ensure SPAG (Spelling Punctuation and Grammer) is complied with I use it every day.
As an ex Aircraft engineer, I am a member of the Royal Aeronautical Engineers and have the title AMRAeS after my name. Malcolm Harnden AMRAeS
I'm a big fan of Sci-fi especially books and enjoy reading a book a week if possible.

Don't try to be a great man,
Just be a man, and let history,
Make its own judgements.

Socrative is an online quiz maker, it's great for formative assessments. Snagit is a dead easy to use graphics editor, I have used it on my first site a lot.

Very interesting blog and appreciate all that you've shared about yourself, your career and the tools that you've been able to master in order to be smarter and more efficient at your job. I have to admit that I'm not familiar with them and will certainly do some research. Have you heard of Menti? It is also a simple and useful quiz maker that can be accessed via smartphone, tablet, laptop etc. Thanks for the post.

Hi Yes I use Menti meter occasionally, for me it's a bit limited, do you have a Nearpod account, if not try one of my codes at Nearpod.com the code is :- TR2M4 or for a small stretch and challenge try this code 9X8TA finally this is how I introduce myself to my learners :- JA2TW If you ever decide to use It I actually do online classes over TEAMS.

Hello Malcolm. Thanks a lot for the additional info on Nearpod. I will consider mentioning it to my team at work because currently we use Menti meter but it sounds like Nearpod is a more robust tool. Appreciate the details.
