Well, having only been here in New Zealand for just over two months I reinvested in a lot of jewelry making supplies that I already had back in Canada but didn't have enough space in my suitcase to bring. I spent the last week and a half creating away and made some beautiful pieces of I was very proud of. I did some looking and found a great looking Holistic Wellness Fair in Mt Eden, Auckland and set off to sell some goodies. Well was I ever surprised...

Turns out if was more of a Clairvoyant Readings, Tarot Cards, and Reiki kind of deal not so much handcrafted meditation jewellery, and quartz crystal pendants. Woops. It turned out to be a flop, I only sold a few bracelets. There was a general lack of traffic into the venue, not to mention it was a sweltering hot day in Auckland and if anyone was in their right mind they would have been at the beach... Well lesson learned, you definitely don't always win at markets, my past experience in Whistler was generally very successful with nearly 200 other vendors at some of our markets not 12. Time to really get this thing going online here. I already have my own domain so I have wiped the whole thing and I am adding on woo commerce and looking to work from there.

I am also posting a lot of images on social media, mostly instagram to try and develop a following before posting items online for sale.

I suppose my current question is, I am looking more at creating an online store then a blog online, so how do I do this without needing constant content to be added? Or is this a non negotiable that content is a must?

Onwards and upwards.

Content will bring different type of users to your website and business. Some people don't know yet about what you're selling and how it works, so writing content is always good.
In my opinion you can still establish just an online shop and be successful, but you'll spent a lot more in advertisement.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

Content is king. However, there are others that will work to get traffic to your website.
Social Media- Your using already
Paid Advertising- Google Adsense, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads etc
