The first day of the new year and new decade has come to an end. Most of the day I found myself reflecting on 2019 and the promise 2020 brings.
In 2019, I decided to change my life. I didn’t make this decision after the new year it was a few months later. I had made a promise to my father, who passed in the summer of 2018, that I would get my health and life in order. When I made those promises, I had the intention of following through, but I didn’t act. It took 8 months before I got it together and started to change my life. In the summer of 2018, I actual started part of the promises to get my life together and started working towards my MBA. Fast forward to march 2019 I decided it was time to get my health in order. I started eating clean and exercising. I am still getting after it because I had let myself go after my discharge from the Marine Corps. As of the end of 2019 I had lost 198 pounds!

Next, I made the decision to work on my career. I’ve been a marketing director for 12 years. It’s been the same story as I’m sure many people have. I just was getting the financial freedom I wanted. I wanted to spend more time with my wife and children. So, I contemplated starting my own business. One night while searching the web I came across a website that lead me to Wealthy Affiliate. After doing some thinking and my due diligence, I joined. I realized by doing this I could build something while still pursuing my health and education goals while keeping my “day job”.
I’m excited about the possibilities that 2020 holds for me and everyone here. I see many encouraging posts on Wealthy Affiliate and there’s one theme that keeps coming up. Put in the effort and do the training and you will be successful. Nothing in this world worth having comes easy. One of my favorite sayings is, “the dream is free. But the hustle is sold separately”. I know I have a lot to learn but I’m willing and ready to dig in and make it happen. I look forward to leaning as much as I can from everyone.
