  1. I was wondering should I add my own music to my web page. I don't know how it would affect my users

Are you building a music-related niche website? If not, I think that adding music will do very little good. If the music plays automatically, it will probably drive visitors away.

Here's part of an article from moz.com:

How to Convince a Client their Site Doesn't Need Music

"I've lost count of how many clients have requested that music be playing in the background of their website. As a professional web developer with a few too many years of implementing ridiculous requests, I've acquired quite a knack for convincing a client that music is a bad idea. There are obvious exceptions: such as band websites or sites heavily involved in multimedia. I'm talking about content-rich sites where the user does not expect (or want) a multimedia experience."

A web search for "music on website" returns thousands of articles, most of which recommend against it. Here's a discussion on the topic:

Thanks this was helpful I may consider building a website later on just for my music

Great idea -- IMHO, adding music is entirely appropriate for a music-related niche.

I think that most people, though, find music distracting/annoying on a non-music related site, especially when it comes on with no warning.

Thanks you've been very informative
