Hi guys,

Even though I'm new to the WA, but not to the online community.

Just thinking about people editing the comments received. And I'm not talking here about grammar and punctuation issues. I mean rewriting the comments altogether.

I don't care of course for the ones I'm leaving the comments here on the WA platform - that's their choice.

But... in the real world I would never trust the website where I've noticed that my comment was edited. Actually this has happened to me sometime ago when my comment about one product was replaced with totally diferent one which I never tried. Unfortuntally, I gave up on that site even though I liked it a lot.

I believe it is unethical. I understand the motivation - why people do it, but I think they have to weigh pros and cons of doing that. Despite of probably good intentions (for themselves), I think people set themelves up for failure...

Just my 2 cents...

I don't think it is fair to the person commenting if you are going to rewrite their comment, but editing for grammar, spelling or formatting is completely normal and ethical.

But folks should not be editing the substance of the comments, if they are not inline or are of low quality, they should be disapproved with a message as to why they were disapproved.

Totally agree, Kyle. I feel it's not only unfair but also disrespectful.
