Why pay it forward?

Will you get it back??Sometimes I wonder why is it hard for others to invest in themselves? There are always a number of reasons that one finds not to. In my opinion they're just excuses and they havelimited beliefs within their own abilities and what is actually possible for their life. That's completely understandable. I too was there just a few short years ago. I always said I can't afford that, or I don't have the money or that's not for me. It wasn't until I heard someone say can you really afford not to. That phrase caught me off guard and I never had forgot it since.

What that meant to me was if I can't afford it and I don't find a way to actually make the purchase or investment then will my life ever get any better? Will the change that I want and that I'm working for actually happen? The answer to that was, yes eventually but I could get there faster by just spending the money. I never realized how investing in yourself was important. That very thing literally changed my life. It wasn't until a few months later when I heard the phrase what you give is what you get and if you give more than you take it will always come back to you. At the time I was unsure of what that actually meant but I knew it was significant.

For days I walked around, repeating that phrase over and over in my head trying to figure it out if you give more than you take it will always come back to you, I couldn't figure out how. Then I was walking in the store and I opened the door for an old lady. Her husband hadn't made it to the store entrance yet to open the door for her although I didn't know that her husband was with her because I only saw her. So I opened the door for her she walked in thanked me and that was that.

Or so I thought anyway. As I was checking out they were in line before me, the lady whispered something to her husband and pointed towards me, and I thought maybe she's just telling him that I opened the door for her. Didn't think that much of it. After that I started to put my stuff on the counter as the cashier said, I don't know what you did, but I guess it's your lucky day.

I kind of chuckled as I told the lady I don't believe in luck. I believe we make our own luck. She said well whatever you call it that couple that just left in line before you, left $500 to pay for your stuff and told me to make sure that you got the remaining amount of money left from the $500. I gasped as my jaw dropped open in disbelief. I tried to run out the door and look for the old man and the old woman, but they were gone.I never got to thank them. As I was leaving, it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I realized, what that phrase actually meant. Give more than you take and you'll always get it back. Nothing ever happens by coincidence, and we are all destined to receive all that we give. So what act of kindness have you given latley?

Very true words, indeed, Nikki! The more you give, the more you get! It's that simple! Good on you!
