Ramping Up On List Building
It's been a few weeks since I last posted here. I can't blame summer holidays. I can blame a couple of List Building courses I signed up for!
My site here at WA is all about List Building and Email Marketing (https://EmailListBuildingTechniques.com). Now I confess I'm no expert at either topics but I wanted to start a site that was related to affiliate marketing but not specifically about affiliate marketing.
While I played around with building a list in the past, I'd never had any success with it. Primarily because I really hadn't a clue about what I needed to do.
So by building a site based on these two topics, I felt it would give me the impetus I needed to finally knuckle down and learn the secrets to becoming a successful email marketer.
In the last few weeks, I've actually not done much with my site apart from add a couple of posts and answer comments.
Instead, I've been following the training in the courses I bought. And they weren't cheap either!
One of the things I've done coming out of all that is to create my own Facebook Mastermind Group.

It's free to join and I post tips, free tools and offer free training there. I prmarily set it up to allow me to communicate with my members, not unlike what we all do here in WA.
I also spent some time creating a squeeze page for the new mailing list I'm using in this experiment.
I also created several more squeeze pages for different products I promote so I can build my list as I direct people to those offers.
These pages are hosted on a different site as they relate directly to affiliate marketing rather than list building.
I've also started buying traffic and leads from several sources to speed up my list building efforts. I'm testing the quality of that traffic at the moment.
One traffic source I am using is Udimi Solo Ads. Here other list owners will send out your promotion to their list for a fee. I've been directing the traffic I buy to a squeeze page rather than sending it to the offer directly. That way I'll at least pick up some new subscribers and can market other offers to them, even if they don't buy the initial offer emailed to them.

I've found that in the last week or so, I've been bouncing around betweeen different things and have lost focus.
So, to combat that, I'm giving myself a 30-day challenge. And that's to build a new list of 1,000 subscribers. I'll be using a variety of methods to drive traffic to my squeeze page - free traffic, paid traffic, YouTube, safelists, purchased leads, social media and anything else I can think of! :)

The reason I'm doing this is to hold myself to account. By documenting what I'm doing as I go along, hopefully I'll inspire others to try this for themselves. It also gives me a deadline to work to, a goal to reach and a plan to get there.
It's a way of motivating myself to get down and do the work and not let myself be distracted by shiny new objects or time-wasting exercises like spending hours watching YouTube videos or checking out my main Facebook timeline.
This is about knuckling down, no more excuses, getting the finger out, getting some real work done and seeing tangible results from that effort.
It may mean my WA site takes a bit of a back seat, but I won't be abandoning it. It's too important to my overall business plan.
