The Continuous Pursuit For More.

When we stop to think about it, so many people around the world sacrifice everything - family, health, time - all for one purpose: to accumulate more and more money. But when we see what’s happening in Valencia (and across the world in general) - the total destruction of so many dreams and plans - we realise just how fragile this pursuit truly is.

People exhaust their priceless energy, sacrifice their health and relationships with their family, and spend countless hours working and fulfilling obligations, only to see it all disappear in an instant - sometimes literally within a few hours.

Even sadder is that many lose what is most valuable - their families. These are the same families they barely spent any time with because, as they often say, “I have to work hard to secure their future.” The irony is that in their relentless drive to provide for the future, they lose the present - the moments of closeness, love, and joy that can never be recovered.

Perhaps it’s better not to fixate so much on chasing money and endlessly accumulating material possessions. Instead, we should focus on what truly matters - our relationship with God, love, and the time we spend with our families. Money can bring comfort, but it cannot provide true happiness or purpose. When we focus on God and our family, everything else will fall into its place.

The problem isn’t in having money or in the wealth itself. The problem lies in loving that same money. The issue arises when our hearts are attached to it. Money can be a great servant, but it can also become a terrible master.

If having more means enjoying it less you are doing it wrong.

When I think of loving money, Nick, I imagine Ebenezer Scrooge sitting alone in the cold semidarkness, counting his coins by candlelight. Not until he "sees the light" does he realize how the fruit of his miserly ways can brighten the lives of everyone around him. I see money as a tool to improve life and lives.

I hope you find great success and security for your family here in WA.
