The Story so Far
I'm not really sure I should be writing a blog post really, but I promised myself that I would follow every step as prescribed. Kyle said "doa blog post" so here it is!
I launched my website: justanaveragegolfer.com at the end of last year. I have actually spent far less time on it than I expected to, but I have done everything in the online entrepreneur certification courses 1 and now 2, so that really isn't so bad.
I originally had this idea a couple of years ago (write about what you know and love, right?) and so I'm happy that I actually got it done.
In terms of financial success...well so far, there isn't any! Actually, that is pretty normal, given that I haven't even attempted to monetise the site in any way. In fact, my immediate plans are simply to carry on following the steps in the course and build a solid foundation (social media, forum presence etc) and keep on putting out content that I think fellow golfers would like to read.
The one thing that I don need to do much better is create more content. I enjoy doing it, I don't find it horribly difficult (I am a golf addict, after all!) and I should have far more stuff there.
By the end of this year, I have two aims:
- Get in touch with some of the other golf bloggers/forum owners/industry figures and get some interview on my site. I love reading or listening to interviews and I think it would be a good way of getting more people interested in my site.
- Make some money! Maybe not a lot, but ultimately a little $ certainly validates the project, encourages me to spend more time on it and makes things easier financially
There we go-a blog post! Anyway, good luck to everyone in WA who is working hard on their project and hopefully I will have bigger and better things to share a few moths down the line.
Nick
EDIT: this site is still active although it is on the back burner at present with my new golf site taking precedence at http://fairwayfirstgolf.com

Sounds great Nick! Nothing wrong with moving at a pace that you are comfortable with. Keep working it!
Thanks Jaweda2k. Slow and steady, as they say!
