Struggle forces us to grow. Because of the struggle, we have to find a way out of it and in order to get out we have to do things that we never did before and that in itself is progress. No pain, no gain!
Discussion of the Quote:
Yes, struggle brings about growth because as we struggle, we have to find a solution that will alleviate our struggle now and if it shows up again in the future.
As we encounter more and different struggles, we will grow by seeking to find ways out of them and the solutions that we find can be used again when the same struggles return.
Final Thoughts:
Struggle forces our minds to find a way out of it. We do not wish to struggle unnecessarily or for prolonged periods of time. Therefore, we want to end our struggle so we will do whatever it takes to find a way to overcome our struggle. The struggle puts us under pressure and that pressure forces us to grow and become better so that we can get out of it.
Consequently, by coming up with solutions, we have to think about what will help us to alleviate our struggle and so we have to gain new understanding, skills and knowledge and all these things culminate into a forward movement which equates to progress.

Great point Nichola. Today, many are struggling due to the pandemic. While some struggle are based on external factors imposed on us, we should find the strength to overcome the pain. It will make us stronger and more persistent. We hope what comes next is the gain from the struggle. Stay strong, keep positive.
