Ability is necessary for success. However, it is not enough to stay successful; a proper character is also required.

Discussion of the Quote:

Absolutely ability is a must for success. It consists of special skills, aptitudes or talents that are necessary to get any specific job or thing done or goal achieved effectively and efficiently. So yes, ability can and will take you to the top. However, it takes proper character to keep you there.

Your character consists of the sum of all your qualities and attributes that make you who you are or what we call your personality, It is the extra that allows you to stay afloat at the top because it is what determines how well you achieve your goals as well as how well you interact and deal with others, how you fit in with others and whether others want to deal with you as a person.

Final Thoughts:

While your ability allows you to soar, you need the content of your character to help you to maintain the height to which you have soared. Your character is what makes you authentic. It is what makes you uniquely you.
