If I can make a suggestion....I read your post and an idea sprung to mind you may, or may not, find useful.

If you enjoy writing short stories etc, try putting them into short ebooks/kindle format and listing them for sale. Either on your site, or Amazon etc. You could then use your site to do teaser intro chapters with a link to the sales page of your ebooks.

Another way, would be to write full books, then use the short stories on your site to give readers a free taste of your work. At the end of the short story link to the sales page of the main books.
