Building an online business often feels like a race. Everywhere you look there are promises of overnight success, viral growth, and six-figure launches. It’s easy to believe that success should happen quickly.

In the classic story, the hare is fast, confident, and distracted. The tortoise moves slowly but never stops moving forward. In the end, the tortoise wins because it stays focused on the path.

The same principle applies when building an online business.

Many people start like the hare:

• Chasing every new trend or opportunity

A Coaching Call That Proved the Point

Last night during a coaching session, I saw this happen.

My clients have been working through a structured process using some of the AI tools I’ve created for building a business. In earlier sessions they had used tools to:

• Discover potential niche ideas
• Identify possible income streams
• Analyse their ideal customer

The session last night was focused on the next step of validating the business idea.

One client decided to paste all four niche ideas she had identified from a previous session into the validation tool at the same time. A few seconds later I heard the scream “Karen… I can’t go through all this information!”

The AI had produced pages and pages of analysis. The problem wasn’t the tool. The problem was trying to do everything at once. So we simplified.

She chose one niche idea and ran the validation again. Suddenly the results became clear and manageable. The tool showed:

• Whether the idea had real demand
• How the market was structured
• And how she could differentiate herself from competitors

Within minutes the confusion disappeared and the “aha moment” arrived.

The Real Lesson: One Step at a Time

This moment reinforced something I teach constantly when building businesses or investing. Focus on one thing at a time.

1. Choose one idea
2. Learn how it works
3. Build and test it
4. Master it
5. Then add the next income stream

Trying to do everything at once usually leads to overwhelm. But consistent steps create real momentum.

This applies to everyone new to WA and new to building an online business. It can feel overpowering but follow the training, one step at a time, learn, apply and master and the results will come.
