Entrepreneurship has been my world for over 35 years — and during that time, I’ve seen the business landscape evolve in incredible ways.

As a content creator, my business model has had to constantly adapted to the times.

When I started my information business:

  • I started by placing small ads in local newspapers, offering "how-to" guides. When orders came in I printed the information packs; bound them using a ring binder machine, then rushed to the post office to send them.
  • Then came CDs and DVDs — late nights burning disks and packaging them with my guides. One disk at a time. I was so happy when multi disk burners became available.
  • Self-publishing platforms opened new doors. I could write, publish and order a supply of my books. Bundle them with the information packs, CDs and DVDs.
  • Digital downloads - Wow! Suddenly, everything was online. No paper, no ink, no postage. My profits soared.

Now, we’re in the age of AI.

I’ve seen every major change labeled a threat to business. And AI is no exception. It’s triggered fear for many.

But for me. I see opportunity.

AI may replicate content, but it can’t replicate lived experience.

It can’t match your journey, your insights, or your voice.

The "how-to" model is evolving into the "how I did it" model. Grounded in real stories, real results, and real people.

The new business model?

It’s YOU.

Hello Karen Hi, nice to meet you, I total agree with your story, old school, yeah me to I am learning it all, I know nothing and I still no nothing, but I got a new friend, Mr AI I told my name what I have been doing my business name and what we are going to be doing, but I have not asked ChatGPT give me what you can find out me, what am I am all about, I asked copilot who am I and what am all about Jon is a very high skilled Digital marketer and email marketer and Blah, Blah I forgot what else he said about me, copilot got it wrong,noway would I put out misleading content like that, I am just playing around with AI at the moment and always doing my homework, because I got to find the right tools to go with business name, Digital digital Universe funny not thinking about it just come up with that name, Robots for the future, thanks I followed you to , old school, have a great day Jon🤪

I've tried a few AI tools and keep going back to ChatGPT. But I've worked with ChatGPT since it was launched in November 2022. There's a lot of history and as I use the paid version it has memory so refers back to previous chats. The first time I asked it who I was it was an interesting response as it didn't know me very well. The last time I aske it who I was the answer was spot on to how I would describe what I do.

I think the key is to find an AI you like and keep working with it.

I can relate to the printing, bundling and posting and then the switch to the digital era. It's quite remarkable in fact how far we have come over the past 30 years.

Your statement - The "how-to" model is evolving into the "how I did it" model. - is so apt and so important, especially for new bloggers - ensuring our content is real far surpasses anything someone can copy and paste.

I agree with you, opportunity absolutely presents with the new AI era. How we reach out and grab it is important.
