Small wins are powerful - stop ignoring yours!

Have you ever stared at your LONG list of things to do, chores, or WA email notifications and just start screaming! You immediately feel better after doing so for about 5 minutes -unless the neighbours or children start banging on your door and asking you if everything was okay with you.

But that doesn’t stop the relief of having a release from the overwhelming feeling that you had several minutes before.

In fact, the small minutes of screaming have now put a spring in your step! You are a brand new individual with fresh thoughts, and you are now ready to face the world!

Stop Comparing and beating up yourself!

Sometimes when we read other successful members’ blogs and even listened to our friends talking about their success, even though we are genuinely proud of what they have achieved, we can’t help comparing.

You are good enough! You can get there! You've got what it takes! What we sometimes fail to realise that we are also winning every time!

Start focusing on our small wins

We win every time we:

  • Complete a checklist
  • Successfully research a topic for our website
  • Write and publish an article
  • Learn something new AND take action

Winning IS making progress

  • Break up our to-do list, chores, or even WA notification email into small chunks
  • Label each in order of priority
  • Put a timer on to complete each task
  • Do some positive self-talk for an added bonus of motivation

Small wins lead to very big changes

  • check your milestones - are you reaching them?
  • check your mini-goals - is there a tick beside them?
  • Check your weekly goals - how did you do this week?

Look at the big picture

Sometimes I find myself get so excited and so overwhelm all at the same time because of all the thought processes that are going through my head.

This is what I have learned to do and follow to prevent myself from being stressed and overwhelmed.

  • I make a vision board - I love to put all my visual thoughts so that I can see what I am working towards
  • I make a checklist for ALL the things that I need to do for the week
  • And then I put them into daily - giving them each a day, and then grouping each day into its own checklist
  • I the re-group my daily things to do into time frames so that I don't get lost in my research

Celebrate your small wins success

  1. Have you done your weekly reflection?
  2. What did I achieve this week?
  3. Count all the positives
  4. Pat yourself on the back
  5. Look in the mirror and say "well done, you."

Start to do these task consistently on a weekly basis and you will be surprised to see the big changes in your approach to your business

Come on! What are you waiting for?

Until next time

Simone

Love this! So many people do try to compare themselves to other people and the truth is, there will always be someone who hit a goal faster, someone who finished an article or their site faster, someone who made money faster. So what!

This is training, and honestly, a lot of those people who race through training didn't truly learn the material. A lot of the people who crank out content are poor writers, producing stuff no one wants to read. And for some people, I do wonder if they truly made that money.

Do what works for you!

Jeannine, I love the way you talk. So honest, straight to the point and no messing around. You say things exactly as you see them. Loves those characteristics in a person!

I am in 100% agreement with the training. You need to take it at your pace.

Awesome response Jeannine. Thank you for stopping by!

Great advice, Jeanine.

It is an awesome answer Mick😁

It is the truth!

Absolutely!

Jeannine, you are so on point.

I keep sharing:
1. don't rush - keep it slow and make sure you UNDERSTAND.
2. don't measure yourself against anyone else.
3. don't use anyone else's achievements as your own.

I see the rush, the burnout, the giving up, the loss of drive and I know that if members simply follow the training and work on getting better, EVERY DAY, they will reach to the door of success.

Thank you for this excellent reminder!

Cassi

Oh my Cassi, I've been saying ALL of this since I've been here a little over 2 months now
It is like a race to complete the training

I hate it when new members get caught up in that. This is an education of something brand new. It takes time to learn so students should take as much time as needed.

Ultimately that will serve them far better than someone who raced through, only to get to the end and discover that they never truly learned the lessons. Funny how they never admit that they are going through the training a second time!

Have you ever been to London and noticed how fast paced they are all walking? I guess the US is the same as well

Here at WA, members are all posting their success, as they should but new members, don't take the time to reflect and analyse that these successful members all worked hard for their success.

They immediately want to be a part of the band wagon and so they hurry through the lessons to see if they can 'catch up' only to find out later on, that they didn't grasp any understanding of what the training was all about

Awin has a huge office in London, so yes, I've been there a couple of times. Definitely same fast pace!

I agree it could be very confusing to newbies who want to pattern themselves after others who are successful. But luckily posts like this one can hopefully keep them on the right path.

I really hope so Jeannette because if I wasn't stronger, I would be swept away as well.
The influence is very strong here and overpowering as well. There are a lot of distractions. If you are not very focused, you can get caught up in the tide as well
I'm so happy when Kyle spoke about distractions and how to deal with them because that's the way I've always been - keeping my feet on the ground

Unfortunately, it does seem that way, Simone.

One of the things that I would change is how new members are oriented and integrated into the platform and community.
That will serve to protect new members from themselves.

This is much like having chicks being trampled by their elders.

We will continue to support as best as we can.

Simone did an excellent job with this post, Jeannine.

We can continue to support our members and reach out with a blanket when we can.

It is great to have you with us.

Cassi

That's an awesome idea Cassi. I wonder what would be Kyle's response if the question was asked tonight?

Thank you, Simone.

If an opportunity arises, I will post it.

Thank you.
Cassi

I do appreciate this feedback Cassi

You are welcome

You are very welcome, Simone.

Your blog posts are always inspiring and beneficial.

Cassi

Thank you Cassi. I am happy that my blogs are useful

You are welcome, Simone.

This time of year it's especially easy for me to feel overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done behind the scenes that people take for granted. All the pre cooking/baking, gift buying, wrapping, cards sent, etc.

So, we just do what we can do on any given day. Eat the big frog first so to speak. LOL

~Debbi

Debbie, I'm with you on this one. So much to do for this month. Thank you for your valuable feedback

Thanks for the encouraging post, Simone. These are great tactics. I feel I've accomplished a lot, considering my day job schedule, if I get one or two articles done per week! I wish I had more time but that's how it is right now. And that's fine.

Paula

Paula, you are still meeting your goals, you are still achieving and celebrating your small wins. Well done. Thank you for valuable feedback

Yes small wins are powerful. We often forget that we must learn to walk before we can run!

Yes we do Mick. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a valuable response. Highly appreciated

Hi, Simone
I agree. Achieved small goals lead us to great goals achieved! We should be proud whenever we achieve one of them!

Jason, yes, we should always feel proud and celebrate them as well if we can! Thank you for stopping by to leave your valuable feedback
