Creating My Own Traffic, Old School

So, it seems for what ever reason that Facebook is not allowing me to create a account for my website business, not sure but maybe something to do with the name or something. Should I be upset? I mean after 3 attempts and being told that the account can not be activated at this time, no it did not upset me at all. Even though Facebook is at the top of the list to create traffic.

Yes, there is many other social media sites out there to help generate traffic, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, etc... Which of course I did create a account with some of them as mention in the lessons and some I put on the back burner just for a short time. I do not want to get to many social media sites and not be able to keep up and become overwhelmed.

Since I am unable to create a Facebook account, for what ever the reason being. I decided to take it back to the old school days and create traffic by word of mouth and flyers, that is correct flyers, business cards and stickers. It worked for so many before the internet, who's not to say it would not work for my business. And to be honest it was kind of really fun creating the flyers, getting out among the local business owners and chit-chatting about getting the word out for my business and asking them questions on how they became successful in their line of work and what it took.

Face to face and in person is just so much better, real and exciting!

First. I started with a local resturant where I know it always has a ton of vistors each day and asked if I can place my business cards next to the other cards, simple answer was yes! Awesome, because where the business cards at this resturant are located is right in front of the cash register, Ca-Ching! People see my card and will wanna check out my website.

Second. Cruised around town or even just running errands and will carry a flyer into what ever store I was at, explain to them my business and ask if I could post a flyer with in their store. Some said yes and some no, but the yes outweighed the no's.

Third. Stickers, I picked up some name tags from the local W - Mart. You know the ones that you wear at a convention and has your name on it written with a sharpie, but also real sticky on back? I was able to upload my logo to Avery and able to print them out from home onto the tags. Avery does offer stickers, but for me it was more money saving wise to by the name tags and copy my logo onto them myself. Now, if you decide to use the name tag stickers let me warn you they really stick and you will have a hard time getting them off of whatever it is stuck to.

In my 9 - 5 I work in the transportion industry, about like Greyhound only better. Being in this line of work helps me promote as well as work my day job I would say I see on average of 250 - 300 passengers a week face to face, so for me thats pretty good traffic even if it is the old school way of getting notice. That person will tell their family member, that family member will tell their co-worker and that co-worker will tell their spouse and so on.Gotta work ALL the angles you can come up with in order to promote outside of social media.

Aloha Fred!

Thank you for sharing!
I think this is a good idea and can bring you many leads.
When I started as a life coach I walked around with my flyers I created. I have spread 1000 flyers and got two responses. But because of this two responses I was able to get contracted at the university as a trainer for scientific skills.

I worked successfully as a coach for 10 years.
All the best to you!
Aloha, Jenna
