Leave Them Alone.
There is a story I do remember and want to share with you all.
When I came to America several years ago I was working in a drug distribution center,and I encountered a young boy who was working there. He was wearing a pair of sneakers that used to be white,but was now embedded in dirt. So one day while we were discussing his sneaker I asked him "mike can't you was it"? His answer taught me a lesson that I will never forget. He said "Do you know how long it took me to get it like this!this
You see even though Mike knew that his sneaker was in bad condition he was comfortable with it that way. So are many people in our society who are broke and miserable. They have no desire to put out a little effort to change their situation in life. They have been broke for so long that they become so comfortable that they see poverty
as their reality.
Recently I was talking with a young man who has three young children and I know for sure that this man is struggling to make ends meet. He is paying rent, driving the worst looking car in the community and works late hours. This man is so talented that he pulls down his computer and rebuilds. When I told him about Wealthy affiliate and all its features,he gives me a host of reasons why he cannot do this. There are different operating systems and he is not familiar with them. I stood there agreeing with him,while laughing at him inside.
Every day we here at WA come in contact with people like mike and this young man.NO amount of evidence is going to convince them ;because you see they are comfortable with their situation and they find it hard to get out of their Comfort Zone. As the nursery rhyme says "leave them alone and they will come home bringing their tails behind them.. Or take Mark Twain instead. "a man convinced against his will,is of the same opinion still."

It's so true, and it is so frustrating, trying to find a way to make people see what we have here. Some of them just don't care to make the effort. That means we have to work even harder, to compensate. Then they'll see...I hope...
Hi Neville, sadly, I see this many times in my profession. It was my part of my job to give 'advice, support and guidance', which was helpful to the people who took it and used it.
But as you say there are people who prefer their uncomfortable and sometimes damaging comfort zone. My job was to try and support them, but sadly another saying springs to mind... about my head and a brick wall!
But that won't stop me trying to support people when I can. Have a great week, Sue 😊
Thanks a lot Sue I have experienced the same thing and sadly with people who are in dire need of the up liftment.But some how they wont budge.
Onwards and upwards! All we can do is offer support and guidance along the way, but move on keeping the focus on our goal in the long run?

Great post. Thanks for sharing. You are right, there are just some people who do not want to help themselves to a better way of life. Unfortunately, the children learn the same behavior.
