All lives Need your Attention.
By this all my friends should know that I am a lover of life on the out doors. Just recently a flock of ducks took up residency in a pond on our property here in Florida. This really is no surprise ducks are everywhere in this state and just about every second home has a pond on their property, especially if its in the rural areas.
What I admire about these ducks is that they came to stay and be family, you see we have chickens too so they wisely figured that if we can feed the chickens, then there should be some food for them too.
Because ducks like water so much I thought that they were mostly fish eaters but every morning they would gather around in front of the house and the moment one comes out they would follow you around. At first, I hardly knew what to do so I tried giving them some corn and they eat it up voraciously Now I have not only chickens to feed but also a school of ducks to care for.
One of the females in the group has settled down right in front of the house in a cute little spot to nest. She is sitting on at least a dozen eggs and in a few weeks we are going to have young ones and plenty more mouths to feed. I am holding my breath because there is a hawk nearby who stole a couple of our chickens about a year ago and I don't think baby ducks stand much of a chance against him: but we will see.
At first, we were thinking not to feed them then I thought that every mouth needs to be fed and who knows if its not a divine directive that we should be the ones to feed and care for these birds. I ,remember the bible story of Elijah and the widow. He was sent to her and by feeding him first,she had food for her and her son and Elijah until the famine was over. Blessings come in many ways and i shall remember that we are tasked with providing for and taking care of the animals and plants around us.

I often wish i was near to a guy like you,there is so much i could learn.I always wish i had some one whom i could sit down with to show me some of the things i am not doing properly.

We have similar situations. One of our dogs had just given birth to seven puppies and one of the cats we are feeding is soon to give birth too.
Five cats plus the to be born, now we have 9 dogs. I worry about how I can feed these animals.
