Test, Test, and Test Again

I was recently chatting with someone on WA that was looking into doing some PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. This individual was just getting started with WA, he was looking for the fastest way to generate an income, and had heard that PPC was the way to do it.

Whenever someone asks me about PPC marketing I tell them that my best advice is to test, test, and test again.

You can spend a lot of money placing ads that result in low traffic and sales when doing PPC.

So why do it?

PPC can have immediate impact to your traffic numbers. However, you need to be certain that you are getting the proper results to offset the cost of your ads.

If the ROI for your PPC Campaign results in revenue generation that is less than what you are spending for the ads then you can't stay in business for long.

For PPC, more than any other marketing method, it's important that you test, test, and test again.

You need to see what makes your traffic buy.

It's great to get people to click on your ads and generate traffic, but they need to buy your product too.

Testing things like;

Ad copy
Ad colors
Ad placement
Ad targeting
Landing Page
Marketing Angle
Buy Buttons
Shopping Cart Usage
and more...

So, whenever someone asks me about PPC advertising. I tell them the same thing. Be prepared to perform a lot of testing and tweaking to your marketing.
