Being the best at what you Love doing
I am not a great writer but WA has motivated me somehow to pen this little piece. All my life I have been pushing myself to excel and produce quality output/results in whatever work/activity that I put my mind on. I still continue to do this in my 05:00 to 15:00 job as a computer programmer and also as a DJ. I have also noticed that my kids are picking on this habit.
The reason for me mentioning the above is that I am in my late 40's and I am consistently questioning myself as to whether I am still relevant or competitive in the two fields above. In the midst of this confusion, I have always come up with the same answer: these are the things that I love and enjoy doing no matter what. Just there, I started searching the internet. My beloved friend Google on the subject of the DJ's that I grew up listening to and who had an impact on my DJ life although I am many kilometres away in South Africa.
Guess what, all of them are now over the age of 50 and they are still whipping out the same magic today. Yes, as the song by the late Aaliyah goes " age ain’t nothing but the number". These guys just to mention a few (DJ Jazzy Jeff, David Morales, Derrick May etc.) have revolutionised the music industry out of what was their hobbies. Many genres have come out of what was pioneered by all of them.
Today Dj’ing is a billion dollar industry which continues to grow and coupled with technology, will forge ahead towards the trillion dollar mark. What I have learnt since yesterday after joining WA, is that we are always limiting our success in life by questioning our abilities to be the best.
Our hobbies are sometimes that foundation we need to build successful careers and businesses.
This is my first ever attempt at blogging and I hope that it inspires and motivates you to try harder. Till next time JJ Enjoy ....

I'm with you! I never enjoyed writing but now I try my best to come up with somewhat good content. I also enjoy being a DJ for family parties.
Keep it up, success is around the corner!

Hi jj
Life has its own turns
And your description fits that so well
I enjoyed reading your blog and wonder if you compose as dj too? If so, good luck...
