I get very bored and distracted easily, and when I'm trying to learn something, I start getting ahead of myself, and skipping steps, thinking I know how to do it or trying to find a short cut. Don't try doing that here if you are a beginner, and have little knowledge of how IT works, you'll come unstuck. Read through the tutorials first, before you go to the video, watch the video first, then go through it again while implementing the steps you need to go through. Use two monitors if you can, or side by side tabs/pages, and watch the video on one while you do the work on the other. I created a site, and started fiddling around with the widgets before I really knew what I was doing. Now I can't get any comments on it, and if it's missing any plugins. I'll have to go back through the previous tutorials again and go through the steps to see what I did wrong. I put the first page up anyway, and shared it around on Facebook, just to test it. Basically, it was an rewritten version of Kyles "About Me" page. Yes, it was cut and pasted, edited in Word, but I took care to edit the content quite a bit. You can see it in the link on my profile. I also found the editor a bit basic, and took ages to get the fonts and sizes right. But I'll edit it as I go along, and gain more knowledge. My advice is, unless you are already familiar with building a website, take your time, re-read and re-watch if you have to, and ask one of the more experienced members.
