Ready To Spend: How Should I Invest In My Website?

It's been awhile since I've blogged here, but I'm curious as to what peoples' opinions are or get an idea of what they've done. I'll get straight to the point, I'm wondering how should I invest in my website. I'm ready to invest money into my site or into activities related to my site.

Not Content

I won't invest in content creation. I like writing my own articles and I don't mind creating content for my site. To me, right now it's not worth it to spend money on content for my website.

Social Media Ads

I was thinking of dabbling in social media advertisements, mainly Facebook and Twitter. I know this can become expensive, but I was thinking of starting with a small budget and learn everything I can about it. Better yet, I'm considering just finding an AD expert and let them do the work.

YouTube

I was thinking about buying some tools to create YouTube videos, so I don't have to appear on cam. The way it would work is create videos and link back to my site. Pretty straightforward, but it's also another task I don't mind paying someone else to do.

Your Thoughts?

I could sit here all day long and write about the different ways I could invest, but I'm more curious about what your thoughts are. If any seasoned vets are or have invested into their sites, I'd like to hear your thoughts too.

Thanks in advance.

Pinterest is a good way to start with ads. You can start low and see how it goes.
Not used twitter ads but I imagine they would work well as twitter is good for producing traffic.

I've heard a ton of good things about Pinterest, but have yet used it. I think I'll start dabbling in it very soon. Like you said, I'll start low and scale up on the ads that work. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just remember this simple fact...Zuckerberg doesn't want ANYONE clicking off of Facebook to go to another site to purchase anything...that pretty much sums up FB ads.

Content on your own site is King. Add your own products if you can and organic growth is best.

If you like writing your own content that is fine and that's what I do, but I also add in bought content that I add to and polish it up with extra content and images, links etc.

I don't have one but Youtube is also great for promoting your site and content and it's evergreen too.

Pinterest is great if your site is image based as well....

I am not a fan of Facebook as in all essence I don't think people go on the site to buy things...unless it's Marketplace and you want some furniture or a car etc..that works well, but that is free to use (for now).

Hope that helps fella.

Good luck with your site.
Tony

Thanks for the advice bro, very helpful! I think I'm leaning towards Pinterest at the moment and possibly adding my own products. I like that idea.

And I can see how he wouldn't want anyone clicking off of Facebook too lol.

You are welcome fella....no worries.

Good questions! I will be following the answers as well. The only thing I've done in the past is some Facebook advertisement. It did seem to get the traffic but conversions weren't really there for me.

I will be staying tuned!

I was thinking of dabbling in Facebook advertising, but on the fence at the moment. The whole "not getting conversion" has prevented my in the past from jumping in on it. But I won't learn anything if I don't do it, I guess lol.
