Picture this, you run a store in the middle of NYC. That's cool, it's one of the largest cities in the world and busiest. Imagine you're doing good business and customers come in regularly and you're making a great living. That's even cooler.

Now imagine this. . .

Your store isn't one of the top 5,000 stores in NYC. But people love you still and you do what you can to be popular and to generate more business, earn the trust of the public and all that good stuff. But. . . You're not in the top 5,000, so let's imagine this. . .

We'll Put A Potentially Suspicious Sign On Your Door

Yea, now let's imagine we're going to throw a sign on your front door to let passerby folk know that you're not ranked in the top 5,000 business in NYC. Let's also put an orange flag on the side of that sign. Oh, and let's do another thing. . .

Warn People Who Haven't Been To Your Store In The Last 3 Months

We're also going to flag your shop as potentially suspicious for those who have not been to your shop within the last 3 months. That's right, we're going to tell potential customers that you're shop is potentially suspicious because they haven't been there within the last 3 months.

Does This Sound Insane

I don't know about you, but yes I do think it's insane. Why am I writing this? Because in my opinion that is what Google's extension is doing. It's called the Suspicious Site Reporter.

The link to this extension is here. The extension does have some good points, but the whole not in the top 5K and you haven't visited this site in 3 months thing rubs me the wrong way.
