You Don't Have To Be Smart To Make Money Online
A lot of people get in a rut at some point, and think, "Maybe I'm just not cut out for this" or "Maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure this out".
But I am proof of the fact that you don't have to be smart to actually make money online.
Just today, I was PMing with a friend about his website and I know that he's a math guy so I asked him a question. It was a question that involved some really easy high school math (or grade school, depending on where you're from): basic algebra stuff
Anyway, my calculations were wayyyyy of. I thought the answer was 4,000% and it turns out the answer was 97.6%. Oops.
And I just thought to myself, "How the heck do I actually run a business?!"
So the good news that you should understand from this story is that you don't have to be a smartie-pants to make money online.
The main things that have contributed to my own success are
- ability to follow instructions (Wealthy Affiliate training)
- willing to try new things
- pushing forward even while facing the possibility of failure
- consistency of work, even when experiencing failure
- trying to be better every day
You don't need to go to school to learn those things. And you don't need to pay someone to teach them to you. Every single person has the ability to try, learn, fail, and DECIDE to try again.
Keep that in mind next time you feel like quitting!
PS. This is why I think people with experience in the military should do great with WA's training and online business in general. Give 110% effort, follow instructions, and mix in a bit of problem solving and that's pretty much all it takes!

They call it "attention to detail" in the military Nathaniell, and I can say for certain my service days made me a better person at many things, especially paying attention to detail.
I'm a sort of math whiz and it does help in business though I certainly agree it is not needed to run a successful business.
4k% is way better than 97.6% unless your talking failure rate. :)
ROCK ON!

Great, inspirational comments and as digpacitti said, it is a blog post idea for almost anything. Fill in the balnk "you don't have to be smart to_______"
it's been a lot of years since graduate school but I remember this principle of diminishing the value of something because you don't have it. I remember before I finished some IT certifications I tried to diminish their value. I knew what I was doing but I did it anyway. if you could define what you think is smart then maybe I could have an adequate response.
I did write up that Blog and referenced this blog. Would like to know your thoughts if you get a chance: Can I Really Compete With The Big Companies With My WA Education?
Hi Nathaniell, I agree with that. Otherwise I would not have been able to do here what I have done so far! You just gave me an idea for a blog post that is related to this. I hope you will read it when I post it.
It is inline with the education we get here.
It is so true. I am not a smart person in some ways, in other ways I am.
The main thing that keeps me going is knowing that if I don't give up, this will eventually work. I also see my small wins as big successes, and I don't let setbacks keep me from moving forward.
Do we want to know how you got 4,000% :P
Great blog as it helps keep motivation. Yesterday I had a bad day and I just kept thinking that I won't amount to anything so thanks for this blog.
To be honest when it comes to school do we even remember most of the things that you were taught? I don't and it's only been 2 years since I left.
Awesome Nathaniell,
I agree 100%
Thank You for sharing & caring my Friend.
This is really amazing advice for us all.
Thank You again for your leadership & over 5 years here with the WA Community.
