The Luxury Of Time

When many of us start out at Wealthy Affiliate, the main goal is money. We want to make money online or increase our income. However, what's the goal of earning that money? Surely it's not to let it sit in a bank account somewhere earning 0.1% interest.
For many of us (in fact, I'd hazard to guess most of us), earning money is just a means to an end. The actual goal is to have more time to do the things we love.
This week, I was able to join my friend on his sailboat for a 3 day trip up the California coast. It was an impromptu trip, scheduled last minute on Saturday and we set sail Monday morning.
After learning how much his boat coasts to store and maintain, I'm not so sure I want to buy a boat anymore, but it was a lot of fun borrowing his. Maybe in the future though!
We weren't far away from land, so I still had cell coverage. I did a bit of work when the wind died and we motored on autopilot; mostly stuff like answering emails, managing writers, and replying to some easy questions via PM here in WA (note: This is a great reason to keep your PMs simple and concise, so I can answer quickly, no matter what I'm doing :)
I didn't get that much work done though, so I've got to play catchup for the next few days. Some products for one of my websites was delivered while I was gone, so I've got photos, reviews, and other tasks to take care as well.
That's why I'll keep this post short!
I just wanted to share this experirence, and inspire everyone to work hard this week and get just a few step closer to their goals of online income.
Keep up the good work everyone!
Our most valuable possession is time.
We can always get more money, but we can't get more time. We only have 24 hours in a day - and one-third of that needs to be sleep.
Finding success is always a balancing act between finding time for the things we like vs time for the things we have to do.
That part never gets easier.
Dave.
Yes, I want to earn money independantly - that’s freedom to do what I want in business and private.
May the fog disappear, and let me see the horizon so I’ll find the direction that will make me earn that income!
You are a great navigator Nathaniell!
:-)
Enjoy your day and thank you for the inspiration.
Roy
So glad you got a chance to get away.
We can all achieve our dreams with the advice and help of members like you, WA training, good old-fashioned hard work, and perseverance.
Note: Boats are very costly to keep running. We have worked on lots of them in the diving industry.
Thanks for sharing your lovely day!
Colette and Philip
I love to sail. It's second only to SCUA diving for me. Where did you guys sail from and to? Were you just a guest or did you work as "crew" for your friend? What do you think of sailing?
It's the things like this that have me here at WA.
