Parabolic Growth Is Around The Corner
I was doing some keyword research today, and checked out the traffic stats of a site I've followed for a while. It's podcast I started listenting to back in 2012, and run by just one guy.
He had a simple 20 minute podcast, and a site with some articles. Then he added a Facebook group.
After about six months I stopped listening to the podcast and didn't think about it for the next 7 years.
When I checked out his traffic stats, the chart shocked me.
This website is getting tens of thousands of visitors PER DAY as of this year.
What's even more interesting is the timeline.
The numbers are too small on the chart to read, but the chart extends beyond 2012. Let's just call it 2009 for a round number, and say this website is 10 years old.
You can see that there is steady growth happening each year, but nothing crazy. Then 2018 hits, and he sees a big bump. In 2019, traffic goes parabolic.
Do You Have 10 Years Of Persistence?
There's nothing magic about 10 years, but I've mentioned this time from before in my post titled, The 10 Year Question.
The owner of this website obviously has a long term goal in mind, and he's just now seeing incredible results from his patience and persistence.
Though he was definitely making money during this time period, it's possible that his income 10x'ed this year.
Can you imagine asking your boss for a 10x salary raise?
It definitely does not take ten years to make a profit from your website. Some people see sales in their first few months, and I've known several people who start making a full time income within their first year.
For me, it took about a year before I was really bringing in good money, and another six months after that I was too embarrassed to tell friends and family how much I was making.
I've seen steady growth for the past 7 years of my current website. Every website is different, so I can't say that I'll also hit parabolic growth in the near future.
However, I do know that if I keep working on my site, consistently improving over time, that I will grow. I definitely hope to hit 10x growth at some point (wouldn't that be nice!), but hope only gets you so far.
Gotta keep grinding, and trying to enjoy it in the meantime.
I hope this chart inspired you to get some good work done this weekend, and you can check back on this post next time you feel down about not making progress fast enough.
Stick with it, and see you in live chat next week!

Hi Nathaniell
I'm in this for the long haul and know the results will show as my site gets older and filled with awesome content and everything else
This is such a great post
Cheers

Wow, that is amazing. It is so hard to think about working on my blog for 10 years, but then again, what else am I going to do with my "spare" time.
I am definitely in this for the long term, but the going has been slow, so it's hard to imagine parabolic traffic at some point.
Thanks again, keep 'em coming.
I am 61 so I figure I have 30 or 40 years, so 10 is no problem, and I am almost 2 years in.
At 68 not sure about the 10 yrs, but still very nice figures. My goals are a little smaller due to time, but figure I will share to someone to pass on what I have accomplished when the time comes.
Awesome and very inspiring Nathaniel, thank you for sharing my friend.
I am in my 10th year of earning online so this post of yours is very timely indeed :)
Parabolic Growth is absolutely crushing it 10X for that website owner after 10 years of persistence.

Thanks for sharing this Nathaniel! It definitely motivates me to continue working on my site!

10 dark years. Bill Gates had it, Jeff Bezos had it, Picaso had it, many, many other great people had them, and this guy had it, too.
I believe that many great things will come for anyone who's willing to and have the inner capacity to 10-year-it-out.
Thank you for reminding me of this.
Cheers, and have a Great One!
