New Niche Concept

Well this week has been busy. While I have been coming up with plenty of ideas, including brainstorming a new niche to dig into, I have not had the time to implement or fully explore anything. This primarily due to a string of unexpected (and a few expected) social engagements, visits from friends, and the like which I have been unable to account for in my personal scheduling. I may just have to set about to the task of cleaning my messy room and making my desk usable so the next time guests visit me or my housemates I can visit for a bit and then retire to my room to engage in research and development for my internet marketing.

This new niche has a few juicy keywords that I'd like to explore and is much more targeted than my new site, www.natelrevoh.com. I feel that this will be beneficial in generating a specific audience and may possibly even draw in more traffic due to its specific target audience. Again, I haven't had enough time to do some thorough market research and explore the niche in more depth, but the initial outlook is positive as a couple of the keywords I am looking to target have fewer than 50 competing pages despite having a couple hundred searches per month.

Tomorrow I have yet another social engagement, however this time I will have much more control over the amount of time I remain socially engaged and plan to dismiss myself early enough to provide adequate time for market research. My plan for this new marketing campaign is to develop traffic by writing several informative blog posts and a landing page that provide the answers to my demographic's needs. Then I will see about launching a Street Articles campaign once I watch Jay's WAbinar this Friday and brush up on the proper application of keywords in article marketing.

I do have a few questions and would love some feedback (also I have quite a few other questions in previous blog posts that have yet to be answered so feel free to browse those as well and please enlighten me!).

A) When selecting an Affiliate Program, what are the most important considerations to keep in mind? For example, should I be looking for good reviews from other affiliates? High commissions? Attractive website?

B) Do you know of any favorite market research sites where I could perhaps observe consumer behavior in relation to specific markets at different times of the year? Such as during holidays and such?
