Investing Money Into Your Business And Yourself
It's been a while since I've posted on this blog. I've been very busy with getting a new business up a running. In fact, the subject of this blog post is my experience with investing money into this business, as well as in myself.
Why Be Reluctant? So many are less than enthusiastic about investing money into something that will yield results. A part of that reason is that they don't have faith that things will work out... and this is a catch 22.
When I was first starting off in affiliate marketing, I took a course on how to write product reviews WITHOUT owning my own website. I am guilty of having thought that this was possible. Indeed, it was somewhat possible at the time, but not sustainable.
Once I switched to making websites for my niche sites, I felt so much more in control. And, I invested more cash into purchasing themes and image templates that would create a better user experience. I have found that the more I work on making my websites appealing, the better my conversion rates. AND, the better I feel about my work.
So why be reluctant to spend on your business? I have met people who are not even willing to spend $7/month on the Microsoft Office Suite when they could have really used it. Instead, they used a free program that made everything so much harder for them.
Yet, the same people also spend $1,000 on vacation and shopping sprees. How can this be?
What I Spend Money OnI do have a few things I'd rather spend money on than vacation, and they are all for my business and self-betterment. In case anyone is interested, here is a list of things I subscribe to and make my life SO MUCH BETTER:
- 17hats.com (a crm platform)
- Envato Elements
- WP themes
- Dragon Anywhere
- Microsoft Office
- Photoshop
- Advertising
- Video recording equipment
- A personal fitness trainer
The list goes on... If I did not do these things for myself, I would be much further behind than I am now.
Things I don't spend much money on:
- Clothes
- Makeup
- A hairdresser
- Vacation
- My apartment
- Eating out
I prefer to invest rather than spent. It is in investing in myself that I can grow my business and live abundantly. One day, I will be vacationing every other month ;)
