Letting Go and Moving On

Do you ever find yourself in a place where you have to let go and move on? It is called "Change." Like most humans, I am not crazy about change. I like routine and consistency. However, sometimes life shakes you up.

When life shakes me up, I know that I have no choice. I have to let go and move on. I don't like letting go and moving on. I want to hang upon to the past and keep it in my present. Of course, being the human that I am ... I want to choose what I keep from my past and bring forward into my present. It is all about control.

When I was a younger person, I learned that I could only control my actions and attitudes. In other words, my choices and decisions were what I could control. Now, for a control freak, that was a hard reality for me. Yet, it was nice to know what I did have control over.

So, with being said, change is a part of life. Letting go and moving on are a part of life. There is the old saying, "One door closes, another one opens." This is so true.

People move in and out of our lives. Situations change. Storms come into our lives for a while. Those storms don't always last, and they can make us stronger.

If you are experiencing change right now, know that it is not a bad thing. It can be a good thing. Learn all you can from the change that is occurring in your life. Discern what you can and cannot control. Then, move on. Those doors that are opening in your life are for your good.

Nicely phrased Myra. Sweet, succinct, and so true.

You are so correct Myra! Change is hard no matter what age you are and no matter your station in life. I used to have a great deal more control of my life when I was in the working class. I had a staff that would do my bidding and a wonderful benefits package that I took for granted. As I progress through this thing called life, I give up more and more control and guess what? That's okay! All those heavy decisions that had to be made? Gone! If I forget a birthday/anniversary, I get, "That's okay dear", and gently pat my hand. I still have my wits about me, but I do enjoy napping more. OK, where were we...oh yes, change is hard!! Make sure you make it count!
Yay Us!! 🌟

Terrific post, Myra!

Change can indeed be uncomfortable. My experience has been that change has led to significant learning and personal growth.

You are right. Self control is very important.
