The Story so Far.
Marcus Wilkinson
I have been working with Wealthy Affiliates for just over a year as a premium member. I completed the first set of lessons, then started the second set and then lost focus. In truth I have suffered mental health issues for more years than I eventually owned up to and the niche I was looking at was not doing it for me. I got distracted, got a new job that I was spending alot of time on (for not huge reward), and just lost my way. Put WA on the back shelf , another failiure in my life.
Right at the start of this year, I fell over an aticle about hemp being a natural material that was under appreciated, Apart from the mind bending attributes (of which I am not paticuarly interesed in), there were medical uses and physical properties applenty from the product. Shortly afterwards I fell over an article talking about the many uses of bamboo. It triggered the grey matter in my head and caused me to look out my Wealthy Affiliate membership' Sustainalba was born. When I do eventually get to the marketing side of the site, I will be looking to promote products that are from sustainable souces.
I started from basics again, aye Session one. lesson one. That was back in February this year. I worked around my job and my other interests like attending open mike nights at the local hostelries.
Then in March I was furloughed due to this Corona virus. The perfect oppotunity to mve this project along, so I took it. That's me just completing lesson 10 of session 2.
I have had the odd day when my old depression has taken hold, but I've shaken it off after a day or two. I do not find the setting up of the site very easy, and got mixed up between posts and pages on my site. One of my posts is like a dissertation in length. I am very good at making changes and forgetting to save or update. But do you know what? I am quite proud of what I have achieved so far.
Thank you to the people that have helped me so far. I have also enjoyed visiting other sites and learning things. I have enjoyed the community and I hope that I can give a little bit back in the future.
And the future? Well I will be back to work I guess in a couple of weeks or sooner. However I will be keeping the momentum up. I would like to be in a position where I am "selling" stuff in about a month. Even Β£10 a day would give me a chance to kick start putting my dream into action.
And Sustainalba? That's a strange name. A play on words. Sustainable misspelt. Although not born a Scot, I love Scotland. I was living there for 10 years until 2018. The dream I spoke of is to move back there, hopefully in the next few months. Alba is the gaelic word for Scotland. Hence Sustainalba.
Well that'll do for now. I look forward to visiting websites a plenty. I hope you all have a fulfilling time with WA. Hold on to and follow your dream. Wishing you all much magic in the future! I'm off to do some more work on my website.
Marcus
