I would prefer to use WIX, but I would prefer not to pay them $13.00 or more per month. Is this doable? Anyone have experience using WIX instead of WordPress? Thanks,
MV<
I have no personal experience of Wix but everything I have read suggests that learning how to use wordpress will be of huge benefit to you in building your online business

Wix has a free option that I took advantage of about two years ago. I used it to make a website to market solar electric systems. I don't do that any more but my website is still active. I will send you the link by PM so you can see what is possible using a free account.
The only negative is the free domain name has Wix in it, just like its done here with siterubix.
All the best to you.

I own a domain purchased from Google and would like to transfer it to WA. I haven't a clue on how to do so. Any assistance would be most appreciated!

Here's a good source: How to Transfer a Domain Name to Wealthy Affiliate servers - step 2 Joe
Thanks, Joe! Got that accomplished! Do you know anything about whether we can use WIX instead of WordPress? If I do, I'd rather not have to pay them $13.00+ per month...but I find WordPress to be not very intuitive and cumbersome...

Yes. After you have changed DNS in google, go to Other Domains in WA and add your domain name there :) Once WA validates everything is working right, you'll be able to choose that domain name for a website :)
Hi MV. You do not have to transfer it here to WA. If you do, you will have to pay the domain name fee again. So, ideally you transfer it close to renewal data with Google. In the meantime, you just point that domain to the servers here at WA to host a website on your domain. You'll have to login to Google and change the DNS name servers to WA's info. Here's the info: (Located inside Site Domains :)
Other Domains
You can point domains registered outside of Wealthy Affiliate to WA Servers and host your websites. To do this update your domain's DNS at the following nameservers: ns1.mywahosting.com ns2.mywahosting.com
Ok, I may be making progress...I am signed into the account, domains, use custom name server... do I put in the two links you provided?
Thank you so much for your help!

Still no niche I feel confident about.
Thank you all for your advice and encouragement. I feel that If this mental rock doesn't budge soon, I may have to suspend my efforts. I feel like going forward without a niche focus, I'm just throwing money into a bonfire.
I have created a website (still evolving, as honorable daughter #1keeps busting my chops :). It is an altruistic site (address in my profile). I don't see that generating any revenue--at least for me. That's okay; I just wanted my first site to be, well, altruistic (Karma, good luck, whatever...).
Turns out (surprises me, as I always liked to think of myself as a fascinating, multi-talented individual) that my interest shortlist is pretty short.
Again, thank you all very much for taking the time. I'll keep pushing at least for another month.
Sincerely
MV
you dont need to feel confident - especially for the first one - just know enough to write some content and find a few affiliate deals.
this way you can concentrate on learning the business model.
don't expect to make the perfect site - it doesn't exist.
as long as the content is readable and educational it can really be about anything.
as jay did, he changed his cooker for an induction one and found that he needed to get new pots and pans - a new niche site setup.
so what have you come up with so far?

Heck, I thought I was an intelligent, interesting person of various talents. Apparently (to my dismay), I am not...
Therein lies the problem... As loquacious as I generally am, I feel like I got nothin'. At least, for now...
