This is a great break down of things to do and to bear in mind while building a business.

I always set mile stones and have indication of success for each stage of my work, eg: By the end of the week i should have learnt enough JavaScript to use code blocks on my site for videos. I will then set aside time to do the learning and the testing through the week. If at the end of the week I have working videos on my site, then great, if not I will simply extend the time line. Those things are easy enough to do.

But things like: networking, meet ups, promoting my business model. I'm not sure if there are any step-by-step walk throughs for that...I mean, what do I say to them? How do I connect? How do I develop a thick skin in case they think my idea is rubbish and they just don't want to know? When is an idea a bad idea?

Those are my main worries. I'm steadily working my way through the training and hoping that there are lessons that cover that aspect of marketing.

Thanks for the tips, I can keep them in my mind while I'm working to ensure I stay on track.

I don't see worries vs opportunities to network with like minded folks who may share the same interests as yourself, rapport can be built quite rapidly. Most important is authenticity and transparency .

Conquering this area comes with practice and doing it more often.

Also your website would speak tons, depending on your niche and what you are trying to convey. Social media influencers in your area of expertise, Buzz sumo influencers may also help here.

With time, you'd also be able to organize your own meetups and branch out this way as well.
