What do I need to do next?
I am working on my website still and trying to populate it with some content that doesn't take much effort for the person visiting the site to go through to get a feel of who I am as a person and what I have to offer. I am not sure how or what else to do to get more traffic. I don't want to put a whole lot of ads and other useless stuff on site. I want to keep the site clean and easy to navigate.
My niche is health insurance for self-employed and alike people. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Content, content, content.
That's how you build traffic. The more articles you publish, the more hooks you have in the water, right? And the more hooks you have in the water, the more bites you're gonna get.
So it's just a matter of continuing to find topics your target audience is making searches for, and then creating content that is the answer to those searches.
This is how you're reach more and more of your target audience who is finding your site through your posts, and that's the continual growth in traffic you're looking for.
One thing you can do is evaluate other people's sites to get ideas and concepts that you might decide to implement. My site fashionabletrends.org is being remastered due to the addition of new links. But you can see what a completed site might look like. Finding themes that match your intentions can be changed as you progress. However, the only thing you can do now that you probably have not started doing is create content. Write about something related to your niche. Talk about some important or informative. Start by practicing educating them or informing them of common knowledge people may have missed on day-to-day operations.
Maybe a few articles about the difficulties for self employed getting health insurance and/or the benefits of it. Coming from the point of view of wanting them to have the info rather than selling a package (so they get the idea you have their best interest at heart)
