From memory, LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and is associated with the 4G and 5G wireless communication networks. Each is a generation of development, so 3g, 4g, and now 5g that is currently being rolled out globally are referred to as generations.
When mobile technology first arrived, the phones were large with little functionality and memory, commonly referred to as bricks; the technology today has developed exponentially, phones are slimline with huge memory, etc.
The 5g network is designed to provide higher speeds than the 3 and 4 g networks, which equates to a better user experience for mobile devices, such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, and wireless hotspots.
Each generation delivers more data at a higher speed than the preceding generation;
- 3G works at frequencies up to 2.1Gigahertz.
-4G works at frequencies up to 2.5 Gigahertz
- 5G works at frequencies up to 95 Gigahertz.
With 5g, there is a huge leap, probably one of the reasons that there is a push back against it.
The strange thing is that with Space X, which relies on satellites for internet connectivity, 5 g may be superseded before it is fully rolled out.
We are living and doing business in exciting times.
Wow. Very insightful. Thanks!
