Let's listen to this song and think about our readers.

Of course we have to be strong for our readers, and we have to lift them up.

I feel we must provide true value and really understanding that we have to reach out and grab our readers (i.e. traffic, i.e. audience, i.e. followers, i.e. tribe).

I feel to truly internalize this will help us avoid:

  • traffic exchange (low quality traffic)
  • overemphasizing keywords (google doesn't always care)
  • ignoring our readers' comments or giving them lackluster responses
  • Disappearing in the blog ocean

I've started to believe everything we will be as bloggers depends on our followers loving us and being loyal to us.

The starting point of writing should always be, for whom do I write this and can I be of help in any way.

When you are writing with the attitude, I want to earn money from you, people can smell that from a distance.

There is a thought/belief that states we have been given everything;yet only by giving it away do we truly realize that we have what ever we have given. Not really sure how this relates,yet it is what came to me after reading your blog . Be Welll

Yes I think that too - and even when you are meeting someone for the first time if you offer good words, advice, knowledge or a token of some sort it is a way of forming a bond that can grow from there.

I trust the following brings you inspiration Maria... The essay became the basis for a successful spoken word song released in 1999 by Baz Luhrmann, "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)".

Respect your elders.

Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.
Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Hi Maria , thank you for this post, my p.s. is the whole thing starts when we are true to ourselves and we start sharing to that truth, with other folks. That's when we get the buy in from followers. Music is a good way to motivate.

That's a very poignant point and I think the bloggers who have that greater sense of self awareness and ability to communicate their true self have more success.

Very true, without followers you're only a writer not a blogger, technically a blogger plays to an audience whereas a writer just writes so to succeed you do need to maintain your audience. Good luck.
