Blessons From My Journey

Okay so I made up that word "Blessons" - I'm not Southern or anything. It's a combination between Lessons and Blessings. Hopefully it grabbed your attention though so I can tell you some things I've learned in my personal journey.
I figure I can use this WA blog with such a wonderful community to share thoughts like this. I believe these things are important to remember both personally and professionally as we make our way through this life.
Please feel free to comment below if you share any or have any of your own to add!
My List of Blessons
1) What you think you are now will change
This applies very strongly to blogging too. Sometimes you start one place and end up in a completely different place. I started a website last year not even thinking I was blogging. I thought I was filling a website with stuff. Then I learned I was blogging. Then I learned how you blog the right way thanks to places like this. And it changed direction and goals.
2) Deepak Chopra taught me that everything comes from silence
I read it long time ago in one of his books. I think it's true. Sometimes you have to go to a very quiet place, be still and quiet and then all the thoughts and inspiration come. Incidentally I also love that Simon & Garfunkel song, "Sounds of Silence."
Meditation and centering yourself is very beneficial when you find yourself in times of trouble or chaos.

3) When one door closes a window opens somewhere
An age old adage but it comes up many times in life as disappointments, defeat, or loss occur. But in most cases light eventually came from somewhere. Thanks to people here I remembered this in my down times.
4) Family is everything, and you can make your own
Okay this one is more for me - personal. But at 18 I left home and wandered far. I wanted to find my own family, one that worked, that was functional and less painful. We need support, we are not islands.
There are people out there that will join you, love you and support you, even as friends. I have some super lovely friends. Give love and you will get love back.
5) Offer something specific, never something general
So along with the previous point, when you have a friend and you want to help them in anything, it's better to say "Let me do [something specific]" at a specific time than say the generic: "Let me know how I can help."
The reason is that no one will really want to think of ways you can help and then call you up like "I've figured out how you can help me." Sometimes we do that but it puts all the effort on us - it's better if as friends we offer specific ideas.
Same with blogging. It's better to be specific. People are looking for help on specific problems. They won't type into google "General ways I can feel better" so don't write articles like that.
Write an article "10 natural headache remedies you can try right now" - this is more specific.

That's it for now! I'm sure there are more, but you have to go be productive and work on your sites so leave a quick comment for me and hurry along! :)
BEST~
