I finally bit the bullet and set up an email list for my blog.
It took me a while because I couldn't decide on which service to use and I wasn't sure how I wanted to market it.
The funny thing is... I tell people all the time to not spend too much time picking the perfect niche. Just pick one and run with it - you can always change things later.
So I finally took my own advice and went for it with the email list.

I signed up with MailChimp because it's free for up to 2,000 subscribers, but I plan on switching to ConvertKit once I have some income coming in. (Sounds like that is the best for offering a flexible email course)
I have only done the bare minimum so far by adding a widgit to my sidebar with an incredibly simple email optin that MailChimp generated for me.
I haven't created any fancy landing pages or announced the email list on any of my social media websites.
But then I checked this evening and already have one subscriber!!
Small win...Big feeling of accomplishment.
To give other newbies an idea of how that fits in with my traffic, I'm getting roughly 100 visitors per day right now. The majority is organic from Google searches.
I'm hoping that I will be able to grow my list over time (just like the traffic).
And I'm definitely planning on offering a freebie for the email optin, but I haven't decided what the heck to offer yet. One more step to power through!
