Cognitive Distortions Checklist:

1.)
All or Nothing Thinking: Thinking as if all things are Absolute, Black and White Categories.

2.) Overgeneralization:
Veiwing one simply tiny nevegative event as a never-ending pattern of defeat and proof of being unworthy, a failure. Thinking as if all things are Absolute, Black and White Categories.

3.) Mental Filter:
Dwelling on only Negetivity, completely unable to appreciate The Positives.

4.) Discounting the Positives:
Inisist that your accomplishments, or positive qualities "don't count"

5.) Jumping Straight to Conclusions:
Automatically Assume that people are reacting negetively to you without any actual evidence, Arbitrarily predict everything anywhere will turn out badly - Furtune Telling

6.) Magnification/Minimization:
Either the act of blowing things way out of porportion, Overreacting, Or Minimizing, shrinking their importance innappropiately.

7.) Emotional Reasonoing:
The oposite of Logical Reasoning. Reasoning by What emotion you're currently experiencing. "I feel like an idiot" or, "I don't FEEL like doing this, so I'm putting it off"

8.) "Should" Statements:
Criticizing of Yourself or Others with "Shoulds" or "Shouldn'ts", "Musts", "Have to's" or similar offenders.

interesting post

Bad interesting? Good interesting? *hides

Certainly is very heavy duty, also very thought provoking.

Think it's Professional Web Content Published Writer-worthy?????

In my humble opinion, worthy of consideration.

Well, Oh wow... I act pretty sure of myself, but wow... Compliments mean a lot. Thank you sososo much!

You are more than welcome.

Heavy duty information to process through.....your checklist is really comprehensive....at one time or another I've experienced all of them...I believe it's all part of mental growth as long as any one trait isn't dominant.
Debbie

Well, Droseh.. I wouldn't be too worried about it, Thoughts are something none of us have control over. They're subconsciously random. Never know what's gonna pop out there... With any of us, and this is perfectly Natural Human Processing, What we DO have control over, is of course, What we DO with these thoughts. We can Change the way you react by, in the middle of thinking and doing, we add the belief you had in this thought. Let's change that belief into something more Positive. Maybe you'd react in a positive way, right? :P I'll get into actual mental illness later hehehe.. This is just regular human nature's coping skills for the mind.

Yes...positive reaction is a sign of maturity and spiritual growth. Interesting topic.

I feel too many people are getting misdiagnosed nowdays with "bi-polar" and "schizoaffective" when really, they were probably just high or coming down from being high, giving them a reason to have seemed to NEED medication treatment for the REST of our LIVES.. and for the whole 15 minutes OR LESS, that's what the evaluating psychiatrist had to go off of.

I'll just never understand handing out meds after just meeting someone for less than 15 minutes. I'd be SERIOUSLY careful about prescribing anyone ANY controlled substance. I probably wouldn't even do it at all! Why risk losing my license over a bad character judgement call after 15 minutes of awkward silence while they're taking mental notes on my physical appearrance.

I've checked up on my psychiatric notes, yes. Turns out that one day, my hair was greesy and another I did my makeup great, then another, I was wearing too much makeup. These are the notes of Professional Specialists... and now, I'm bathed, hair perfect, great makeup, dressed all nice with clean ironed fancy fance-face at appointments like "Damn I look good. That means I'm obviously DOING good, even though I DID attempt suicide last year, and sometimes, I take an extra adderol or klonopin for the hell of it so HA" . Drs are Idiots to me lol.

Hi, all I can say is you are full of enthusiasm it is catching, yes the idea that we can blow things out of proportion can be tempting at times especially when arguing a point, how stupid we think our point is...lol... but as you grow within yourself you begin to understand that it does not matter, just more crap in your life. I feel your excitement about what you are trying to achieve here and you really should push on ahead. I was listening to Kyle last night if you have not seen it or heard it.. good luck where ever your journey takes you

Omg thank youuu! That really means the world!!! I have a lot more to cover on Self-Awareness, but that's pretty advanced for most people, so go you!!! Hehehee

Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you so much for your Support! I can do all sorts of Psychotherapy, but, can't sell much. It's a good type of Content Writing Portfolio? :P

Thanks for sharing this ;)

Great post, I like your visual aid and the fact you divided your post with sub-titles and short sentences, made it easy to read and understand! At some point in my life, some or all of these things have occurred. I often will jump to conclusions and think people are perceiving my actions negatively. Thank you for the insight!

Best wishes on your success!

Cora
