My Morning Routine
Last Update: June 29, 2017
Ok so I have read tons of articles and posts about morning routines of successful people. Influencers like Tim Ferriss have featured lots of valuable content and studies about morning routines positively affecting your performance.
Do they really work? Well there is only one way to find out...try it out yourself. So that's what I did...
A few weeks later I have noticed several positive effects:
- My sleep quality has improved
- My energy level and focus is more stable during the day
- I feel more organized and more clear on priorities each day
- I get into flow and peak performance state much faster
There are many ways you can structure your morning routine. Just google for ideas and build your own personal routine. The below is what I do:
- I make my bed (interestingly, this is on most morning routine lists of ultra successful people...it gives you a sense of accomplishment which is a great way to start your day)
- I have a cup of hot coffee while listening to a song I currently like (the coffee gives me an energy boost and the song makes me feel good)
- I meditate for 15 minutes (I use an app called Headspace for guided meditation)
- I have a healthy and nutritious breakfast (for me it's oatmeal, banana, protein shake)
- I read for 30min (valuable books on personal development, business, etc)
- I review my weekly goals and priority tasks for the day
- Ready to go :)
If you already have a morning routine, I would like to hear from you what your experience has been? And if you don't, I encourage you to try it...and let me know a few weeks later if you saw a positive impact ;)

I am not a morning person, but I also find myself much more productive on the days that I force myself to get up earlier. Of course, this means an earlier bed-time and just a general sense of discipline. But the morning prodcutivity really works. I will try some of your ideas above.

Hmmm. Very good post. I may have to try your routine for myself. I recently purchased Tim Ferris's latest book, Tools of Titans. I think it's a masteripiece.
