Group Client Policy Service Windows 10

I have been getting the following error on my laptop, "Failed to connect to a Windows service. Windows couldn't connect to the Group Policy Client service. This problem prevents standard users from signing in". There are several work arounds, bandaids and one or or two fixes. It seems that even Microsoft doesn't know what to do.

I tried most of these. I spent a great deal of time trying to even get my computer to function without freezing.

I was about to do a System Restore, when I ran across another option. The post said if you are using Google Chrome as your default browser, try uninstalling and reinstalling.

It Worked!! I did this three days ago and so far no problems! I hope this helps somebody!!!

I'm not using Windows 10 yet but I'll keep your post in case I need it in the future. I'm glad you found a solution.

Hi mckm,
This is a problem on earlier versions of Windows. I have seen other posts as far back a Windows 7!

I'm going to try this first thing in the morning.....thank you! My laptop has been freezing for a whole month now.....

I certainly hope it works for you, Rosie. My laptop was freezing constantly, my desktop shortcuts were unresponsive and I was wasting countless amounts of time and energy just chasing a ghost.
