Maybe some of you have encountered this dreaded error from Windows. I am running Windows 10 and this new one just popped up yesterday.
Of course when I saw CRITICAL ERROR, I freaked! Oh no, has my new computer crashed? Have I done something that the Windows Police don't like?
I couldn't log into anything. I checked on my wife's laptop. They told me to Google "repairyourgizmo" or something like that. Yeah, right! How am I supposed to do that when I can't even get on the internet on my computer.

Well I took a deep breath and began playing around (after all how much more could I screw things up?). I discovered I could get into Malwarebytes through my task bar. I ran a scan. Cleaned that up.
I still got the Critucal Error but only when I hit the little Windows key on the lower left of the task bar. I was able to access everthing else, internet included! A big relief. But still, my Start Menu was not working.
I Googled the error, went to YouTube and Windows forums.Nothing I found worked. Apparently Microsoft doesn't even know what the problem is and is looking for help from the community.
It seems some "work arounds" work for some people, not for others. Other solutions work in other instances.
I am happy to announce that after a day of looking, I found one that worked for my computer. I ran across a fix way down on the second page of the forum. They suggested uninstalling DropBox.
Bada bing. I uninstalled DropBox, restarted my computer and my Start Menu is working fine.
It has only been few hours and three reboots later, so we will see if it was the final fix. Fingers crossed!
